FAQ for Vancouver Pet Owners

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Clarke’s Canine Crew different from other dog walkers?

We’re all about adventure, not just a quick loop around the block. Our pack walks are structured, enriching outings that give dogs the chance to explore, socialize, and burn energy in a safe, supervised way. Think trails, fresh air, and happy, tired pups—not rushed sidewalk strolls.

What services do you offer?

We offer a range of adventure-based and personalized care options:

  • Morning Adventure
  • Midday Adventure
  • All Day Adventure (includes both morning and midday adventures)
  • Private Walks (one-on-one walks for dogs who need extra attention)
  • Drop-In Visits (feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and check-ins)
  • Boarding & House Sitting (limited space available)

Each service is designed with your dog’s well-being, enrichment, and safety in mind.

What is an “adventure” walk?

An adventure walk is a 1-hour, enriching outing that includes natural spaces such as forest trails and parks around Vancouver. Dogs are walked as a pack, allowing them to socialize, build confidence, and engage their senses—all while staying safe and supervised.

Are all walks pack walks?

Yes, all of our adventure walks are pack walks. Pack walking helps dogs learn good social manners, builds confidence, and provides mental stimulation.

Private walks are available for dogs who are not suited to pack environments.

Do dogs get off-leash time?

Yes—off-leash time is very important to us. We believe dogs thrive when they’re able to move freely, explore naturally, and build confidence off leash in a safe and controlled environment.

If your dog has never been an off-leash dog before, that’s okay. With patience, consistency, and the right pack dynamics, many dogs gradually learn the skills needed to enjoy off-leash time with us. Safety always comes first, and off-leash privileges are introduced responsibly and at your dog’s pace.

What is the All Day Adventure?

The All Day Adventure includes both the morning and midday adventures, making it perfect for high-energy dogs or owners with long workdays. Pick-up time is approximately 8:30 AM, with drop-off around 2:30 PM; however, we cannot guarantee exact times.

This option can be a great alternative to traditional doggy daycare. Dogs spend the majority of their time outdoors exploring and adventuring, then relax comfortably in the van with their buddies in between walks and during pick-ups and drop-offs. It’s a balanced day of activity, social time, and rest—just like a great pack should have.

Do you offer private walks?

Yes! Private walks are available for dogs who need extra attention or prefer one-on-one care.

Private walks are typically 30 minutes or 1 hour, but we’re happy to tailor the walk length and structure to suit your dog’s individual needs.

Private walks are ideal for:

  • Puppies in training
  • Senior dogs
  • Dogs recovering from injury
  • Dogs who are reactive, anxious, or need extra attention
How many dogs are in a pack?

Our pack size is typically 4–6 dogs. This allows us to maintain a safe, calm, and well-balanced group while ensuring each dog gets proper attention, supervision, and a positive pack experience.

Is Clarke’s Canine Crew insured?

Yes, Clarke’s Canine Crew is fully insured for your peace of mind.

What care does my dog receive during and after their adventure?

Every dog in Clarke’s Canine Crew receives fresh watertreats (with owner approval), and a towel rub-down after their adventure—perfect for muddy paws and wet Vancouver days. We make sure dogs are comfortable, hydrated, and happy before heading home.

Will I get an update about my dog’s adventure?

Yes! Every walk and adventure comes with Clarke’s Report Card.

The report card includes:

  • Where did we go today?
  • Was I a good boy/girl?
  • Did I poop?
  • How much fun did we have?
  • Lots of stunning photographs from the day’s adventure

It’s a great way to stay connected to your dog’s day and see them living their best adventure life.

How do I get started?

Simply contact us to set up a free 5–10 minute meet and greet. This allows us to get to know you and your dog, assess pack compatibility, and ensure we’re the right fit.

What do I need to provide for my dog?

Your dog should have:

  • A well-fitted collar or harness
  • Up-to-date vaccinations
  • A friendly attitude toward people and other dogs (for pack walks)

We’ll handle the rest!
